& 8 Journal Prompts to set your own Intentions this Season

Hello Beautiful,

How was your (insert term you use here, Thanksgiving, Feasting Day, Mourning Day, Harvest…..)?

I hope that you spent it exactly how you wanted to and that you did not feel the pressure to begin the next holiday the very next day.

I know,

It ain’t easy swiping and looking at all the specials, sales, beautifully curated holiday themed decorations in those perfectly curated and lit homes, and not feeling an urge to do the same.

Not because you really want to go through all the trouble; not because you got inspired, but because you had a thought that went something like this:

“Once I put out all the holiday decorations; I can relax.”

“A lot of decorations makes it more special for the kids”

“My house doesn’t feel Christmassy enough.”

“I really should start decorating.”

“Everyone has their tree up. I should put a tree up.”

I feel a pull toward SIMPLICITY.

In these next few weeks before the Christmas Holiday, I’m choosing

Small gatherings at home;

Homemade popcorn & hot chocolate by the fire;

Minimalism and eco friendly decorations taken from Nature & NOT the Christmas Tree Shoppes;

Homemade gift making;

Naps;

Bundled up walks in the cold;

More window shopping @ small businesses;

Less Actual shopping @ Department Stores & Malls;

Slowing down;

Reading;

Long baths;

Slow yoga.

Setting your Intention on how you want this season to go before we are in the thick of it will help you experience this Season the way YOU imagine & not simply by Default.

Below are some Journal Prompts that will help you set your Intention for this Holiday Season:

  • What are the things/activities/experiences that make me feel ‘Heavy’  (vs. light) during this Holiday Season?(For example, going to any retail establishment during the Holiday Season makes me feel absolute dread.)
  • What are the things/activities/experiences  that make me feel ‘Light’  (vs. Heavy) during this Holiday Season? (For example, I LOVE baking holiday cookies.)
  • List what you’d like to experience more of this Holiday Season?
  • List what you’d like to experience less of this Holiday Season?
  • How will I incorporate the things that make me feel Light and the things that I want to experience more of?
  • How will I let go of the things that make me feel Heavy and the things that I want to experience less of?
